The origins of this company date back to 1977 when Phillip Bonham redeveloped the first commercial property.
In 1982 Phillip Bonham became a commercial real estate investment broker with Marcus & Millichap in San Diego. After several years he affiliated with John Burnham & Co. where he continued to work as a commercial real estate investment broker before deciding to form a new commercial real estate management company.
Since that time Phillip Bonham has been involved with the management and rehabilitation of drug and crime related properties, and through a not-for-profit corporation he co-founded in 1988 (www.managementalertgroup.com) has provided seminars to the general public, the San Diego Apartment Association, San Diego Board of Realtors, the San Diego Housing Commission, taught apartment management classes through San Diego City College, gave seminars for the City of El Cajon in conjunction with the Police Department, and various other groups throughout San Diego County.
The company was featured in articles in the San Diego Union, Channel 8 TV, and on KSDO radio and Phillip Bonham wrote numerous articles for the Apartment Association's monthly magazine, as well as producing a handbook on how owners and managers can deal with drug and crime problems on their properties.
Over the years the company has been involved with owning and/or managing over 2,000 multifamily residential units and several retail centers and the non-profit Management Alert Gorup, Ltd. was the recipient of the San Diego Housing Commission's Shelter Award for contributions to the rental housing industry in San Diego.
The company has been retained by lending institutions to work out problem properties; provided brokerage services to individuals, corporations, and banks and has represented and negotiated residential and commercial projects with individuals, corporations, partnerships, banks, trustees, local and national entities.
